King of the Hammers Friday, Jesse Hart on Sunday

Tomorrow is the King of the Hammers rock crawling and desert racing event here in Socal.
Which, I’m covering for my company since we have a number of sponsored drivers in the event. Should be a lot of fun and I’m sure there will be a lot of great images at the event..

Stay tuned.

Also, Sunday I’ll be shooting Singer Jesse Hart in Hollywood for a fashion shoot. We had originally planned on shooting a week ago but had to push it out due to weather. This will actually be the first time doing fashion in a few weeks – so it should be a lot of fun.

Lastly, I need a few models for some shoots and also re-shoots I’m doing. Please email me if you’re interested.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Ok, so technically it’s 4am on the 16th… but whatever, who’s really counting? Valentine’s Day, or Single’s Awareness Day for most, was fairly low key for me. I spent most of it with friends, running around, catching up on photography stuff that I felt needed attention.
Later that evening I ended up heading to Back Alley to see the band Dirty Black Summer perform. Ironically, I ended up running into a number of friends there. Kassandra, who I’m working with on a pinup shoot (see previous blogs), knows the band – who I know through a friend… how’s that for three degrees of separation? I was then introduced to Lauren – who I also already knew from working together at Green Door for the Blive Couture/SUBRAGE Fashion Show back in November.
Small world…

Today, Monday, was a cruise and lunch with some of the Topdown crew…
Well, those of us who managed to wake up before noon. A brief cruise though the hills, and then up Highway 1 to Harbor House… pretty much everything that we ordered was amazing. If it wasn’t so filling I think a lot of us would have ordered second dishes of something, too.

Didn’t take nearly as many photos as I thought I would I rode with Ninj in his car so I could shoot instead of focusing on driving. I have some decent stuff… but nothing like I hoped to get. Here’s a quick example of the shots I was getting…

Fred and his girl B’.

Coming up this week I have meeting with a major parts supplier for some small projects.
Also, I’m going to be shooting with Jesse Hart on Tuesday in Hollywood… so if any of you in or around LA want to do something that night, hit me up!

Night all… 4:30am is getting pretty late…

Geisha House with Jesse Hart, Street Fighter release at MOCA

Rocked it out at the Geisha House in Hollywood a few nights back with Lucky 7 Lifestyle and Jesse Hart & The Fam.

It ended up being a really great night, even though I was running late due to prior obligations I couldn’t get out of, haha. Ironically I ended up running into (VJ) Michael Benz and (Make Up Artist) Lauren Favorule who I’ve done a lot of work with. Also there was Brand, a model I’ve had the pleasure of working with multiple occasions (like this one).

Met a number of entertainers and models I look forward to working with, and overall, just had a great time.
I arrived late, like I said, so I didn’t really take many photos… mostly just having fun with friends rather than treating it like an event I needed to cover. Irregardless, here are the photos – or click the image above.

Also, last night I headed to Los Angeles again with the Topdown guys to MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) for the Street Fighter 20th Anniversary party and game launch. For those of you who don’t know, Street Fighter IV is about to be released… you hear that? That’s your inner child screaming for joy!

Haha, it took forever to get in… line was huge. I was really tempted to just show my camera, say “Press” and walk through the door. But, that would involve ditching my friends. Once inside we had a really good time. Tons of free gift bags, posters, hats, and other commemorative stuff for people to pick up.
I didn’t even think to check how many stations they had set up to play the new, not yet released, game… but it had to be somewhere around 50. They also had some of the really old arcade systems there with the original Street Fighter series.
A contest was held to see who the best player was… I didn’t bother entering, nor would I have wanted to bother waiting in the line to compete.
There was also live music, tons of prize giveaways. Free laser phone-engraving of any Street Fighter logo or character (I was tempted to have Guile etched on the battery plate to my Blackberry Storm, not going to lie), and food and drinks.

Brought my camera, shot around with friends, nothing amazing, but posted a gallery up anyway.

In other news..

My shoot with Kassandra has been pushed out due to weather, boo! :(
But, will hopefully be happening in the next week or so.

I’m also going to be working with Jesse Hart this upcoming week for a shoot in Hollywood/Beverly Hills.

And, lastly, I’ll be in the Bay Area to visit Friday the 20th through Sunday the 22nd.
Hit me up.

Supercross images uploaded, Lucky 7 Lifestyle Release

So shooting the Monster Energy/AMA Supercross event on Saturday was one of the coolest events I’ve had the opportunity to cover recently. My first Supercross show, first off, not to mention some crazy weather the whole weekend that made for some really insane riding conditions for the teams.

I have a so many great photos… I shot 2,400 the whole day. It took me a while to narrow that to only 24, and then I selected nine to add to my portfolio. I decided to create a new section to my portfolio, called Racing, since I’ve been covering quite a bit of it recently. It’s up and running currently, and all traffic to http://www.johnremus.com is being redirected to that section for the time being.

Check it out, let me know what you think of the shots by commenting here on my blog.

Naz, me and Amy at One Sunset, Hollywood.

That same evening I went from Angel Stadium up to One Sunset, in Hollywood for the Lucky 7 Lifestyle release party. Unfortunately I was extremely late and didn’t have nearly as much time to rock it out with everyone as I would have liked.

I was pretty tired, and I’m sure looked like total crap – well, I probably looked like I had been shooting all day the cold and rain.
I only took about 40 images while there… not many at all, but for those that are interested, they’re in a small gallery by clicking either photo above, or this link here.

And with this week starts many other projects and things in the works for me.

Stay tuned for updates everyone..
The next few projects are gonna rock.

Monster Energy/AMA Supercross, Angel Stadium

James Stewart, #7, won the 450cc class today at Angel Stadium, Anaheim, California for the Monster Energy/AMA Supercross event. And that’s not camera noise… that’s pouring rain… started again halfway through the last race.

I had the pleasure of attending to shoot for Street Drum Corp. who was performing for Jagermeister.

I’ll be doing a larger update later with more photos… I’m actually about to run out to Hollywood for the Lucky Seven Lifestyle release party. Woo hoo! Spent all day at the races, now all night at the clubs..

One more shot for ya though…

Jake Weimer, #19, won the lites (250cc) class.

Have a great night everyone, check back tomorrow for more photos from the races!

Promax Motor Sports Photo Shoot

Over the weekend, while many were making plans on how to spend their Superbowl Sunday, I was working with Anthony, owner of Promax Motor Sports, in Alhambra, Calif., on a photo series of his car collection.
Two days isn’t really enough time to do as extensive of a shoot as his collection demands – and hopefully things will continue over the following weeks piece by piece. After all, I only just began to photograph four of many cars he owns.

But, I’m quite happy with how the series turned out. I was able to locate various spots to do our location shooting. I’ll take care of more interior work on dates to come. The images in this post have all been added to my portfolio. I also am redirecting all traffic to my Automotive section as it has my most recent pieces.

Stay tuned though. I’ll be scouting locations for my upcoming pinup shoot with Kassandra, and the beautiful ’34 Chevy owned by Richard and Sarah C. I also will be collaborating with Rosa, a past model, on a water shoot. And have a beach shoot approaching as well.

I’ll check you all soon… til then, enjoy the rest of the Promax Series…

I’m not happy with the interior shots. I’ll redo those and update later

Such a gorgeous car, and incredible sound too… I want one.

BMW 777

I was pleased this shot came out. Tried something a bit different, and have been receiving a lot of compliments on it. Thank you everyone who sent phrase, it means a lot.

Interior shots of the Smart Fortwo. Again, this was a fun little car, I’d totally get one for like… grocery trips and little errands.. But I know I would want to mod it if I had one.

Simple shot of the speedometer… nothing fancy..

So, that’s it for now. If I edit more shots I’ll post them up… But, most likely, there won’t be any other additions until the next shoot.

Good night everyone!
