Wanted to share this new image of Marsha with everyone.
Spent last night catching up on some past shoots. I edited an entire fashion show that I photographed for Studio C Salon, and then caught up on some images from Marsha’s shoot and Laura’s shoot (see last post).
Keeping this blog post brief!
Just thought a hot image might brighten everyone’s afternoon.
I had the pleasure of working with the very beautiful Laura Shields in Beverly Hills, on Memorial Day.
Along with my good friend, singer Jesse Hart, we set out to create some James Dean/Natalie Woods inspired photos.
I’ll be completely honest and say I’m not quite sure how close we got – but I’m also nowhere near done editing the images yet. This is one of the images that caught my eye last night as I quickly sorted through the photos. They will all need to some more work to make them look aged and weathered. But I feel I’m off to a good start.
I’ve been behind in updating my portfolio with recent work. For that I apologize to all of you who follow my work regularly.
I’ll be playing a lot of catch up this week editing images of Marsha, and continuing to edit this shoot of Laura and Jesse. I also shot a fashion show for Studio C Salon that I need to edit. Not to mention the bit of motocross I photographed Thursday before my holiday-weekend cruise to Mexico (no, we didn’t stop. No swine-flu here).
Check back shortly.Â
I’m expecting to run some major updates this Sunday.
Also, starting in June, and going through July (and the rest of the year), keep an eye out for my work in various magazines including Rebel Ink, Unzipped, Import Tuner, Super Street, Cycle News, D Sport, Sport Truck, etc…
I told you I’ve been busy…
“Take a picture of my fan club!” she said right after we wrapped this shoot. Marsha had gathered quite a large group of onlookers (not surprisingly)Â during our beach shoot at Santa Monica. And if my strobes weren’t aimed at the sand and sunset than I would definitely got a shot of them to share too, haha.
Yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of working with Marsha, on location, at Santa Monica pier for a beach bikini shoot. Well, the shoot for the soon-to-be-released clothing line “Hatermaker” – but everyone will want to see the bikini photos first.
This is one of many shots we made during a gorgeous sunset – though it was pretty chilly out and both us were kneeling and laying down in the sand for the shots. Haha.
I’m looking forward to editing the rest of this shoot this evening, and will hopefully have some portfolio updates tonight with all my new work from the last three weeks, too. I look forward to potentially shooting with Marsha again as soon as our schedules both open up.
Check back soon all.
This past Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Joanne and Jason’s engagement photos in Walnut, Calif.
I actually met Joanne on my birthday a few months back when I was out to dinner with friends. I asked her to take a photo our group with my camera. Handing someone my Mark III almost always starts a conversation about what I do for a living.
Long story short, Joanne was looking for an engagement photographer, and after taking a look at my portfolio we tried finding a date that worked.
The three of us spent a couple hours on location to try something a bit different than your standard engagement photos. Joanne really wanted an entirely black & white shoot. I’m a huge fan of color and lighting – but I’m always down to try something new and challenging.
Overall, the entire afternoon was a big success. We created a number of beautiful images, and I only hope that Joanne, Jason, and their families are as happy with the photos as I am.
A beautiful couple.
It’s somewhat of a given that with me, and an evening shoot, you’re going to end up with photos like this. I enjoy lighting way too much to not try a few of these.
Editing these photos last weekend reminds why I love doing engagement and wedding shots. There’s something really amazing about capturing the love and emotion between two people who want to spend the rest of their lives together. And having the ability and opportunity to capture images like these is the reason I don’t just stick to sports photography, or fashion, or any one style.
I truly love what I do.
Just a brief blog update to share with everyone this image of Jesse Hart that I shot Saturday evening before we headed up to KRESS in Hollywood for the Models and Bottles party (see the previous blog entry).
We were down hanging out in Newport Beach and climbed out onto the rocks to do some shots. This is one of the ones I liked and decided to edit. Jesse, I’ll get you the other images for your promo posters soon..
As for other fashion stuff… I need to schedule some shoots for this month since I’ll have a bit of time.
And I have a really awesome engagement shoot planned and coming up quickly.
Good night everyone!
This weekend was the “Models and Bottles” birthday celebration for CK from Total Access Events at KRESS in Hollywood. Jesse Hart, a good friend of mine, was flown in from the middle of his current tour to perform for CK – who wanted Jesse there to sing at his party.
The rooftop party was hosted by the Hustler Girls, and some of the ladies from AVN who were also celebrating birthdays as well. I don’t think anyone there had a bad night – except the 900 or so people who couldn’t get in when the place filled to capacity…
I had a great time, met some really great people, and missed quite a bit of sleep… as usual, haha. But as always, rocked it out and had a great evening. CK, the Hustler Girls, and AVN can definitely throw one hell of a birthday party.
