It
makes me wonder why I left in the first place...
I had
the most awesome time during this trip. Originally planned to be a big
reunion of all the lifeguards and everyone we chilled with on the College
Program, this trip ended up being quite a success. We started planning
it back in August...yep, two weeks after being home we were all ready
to go back. We all started sending out emails and everything trying to
find a good week for everybody, and set up lodging ideas, etc. Though
about a month away from leaving everyone started to back out. Then two
weeks beforehand people started to kinda scramble to be able to go, and
most made it.
I stayed
at Laurel's house with Ryan W. and Ryan B. I was also the first of pretty
much everybody to arrive in Florida. Other people that made the trip:
Ryan W., Ryan B., Chris Biggs, Grant M., Beau P., Ryan M., Merri H., and
Jasmine M. And of course there was also Laurel, Aaron, Naidymar, Kelly,
Kate, Amanda R. and everyone who lives there. Unfortunately Kyle, Theresa,
D, Jen, and Amanda H. didn't make it.
We
had such a great time though. The first day we didn't really do too much.
We went to Magic Kingdom and watched the fireworks, they have a new show
called "Wishes". The Second day was great though. We (Ryan,
Ryan, Merri, Jasmine, and I) went to Animal Kingdom and had only been
there about 40 minutes when we were selected to be in the Parade, haha.
It was great, I think it was probably because we were all wearing the
Mickey/Minnie/Goofy Santa Hats. But hey, whatever works. So we were given
a time and place to meet at, and upon arrival were dressed in Safari-type
vests. We were on the very last float....the float with Mickey on it!
haha, woo hoo! go us! So they took pictures of us with disposable cameras
and gave those to us to be developed. We hit up PI that night too. Not
for dancing though, for the comedy club.
The next day Ryan, Ryan, Laurel and I got up and went to Blizzard Beach
in the morning. Damn was it cold out, haha. There were seriously about
9 cars in the parking lot, and including the 4 of us, only 61 people in
the park. We mainly just walked around and said hi to all the people we
used to work with. We went on most of the slides too, as cold as it was.
But hey, since we were there, we had to at least do some of them. We also
got a chance to talk to our old supervisors and managers. After that a
bunch of us met up at MGM at spent the evening there. We also saw Kate
that night for the first time in 4 months :o). Later on we went to Epcot,
and then all had dinner at Planet Hollywood. After leaving dinner though
there was some guy walkin around, drunk, who had vomited on part of his
coat it appeared...it was pretty gross.
The next day was spent at Magic Kingdom, we took a couple pictures with
characters. There's a great one of Grant with us and Cinderella...if you
don't know what I'm talking about, go find it, either in the Pic of the
Moment section of my site, or the link to my photo's on this same page.
We also met up Ryan Moody, one of my old roommates. He had driven over
from Texas. So we hung up with that day and watched the parade. We also
met up with Jerri B. and her friends and roommates from back home. We
went to Tom Sawyer (is that how you spell it?) Island and ran around through
the caves and bridges. It was so much fun, we seriously had like a group
of 12 or something that day. Later on that night, on the way out Aaron
completely violated the statue of Walt, hahaha. You HAVE to see it. I'm
gonna figure out some way to put it up here on my site, I may need to
password protect it. If that be the case, email me for access.
The next day, unfortunately, Ryan Bedford had to drive home. That afternoon
we went to Epcot, where I was finally able to get pictures of my "Leave
a Legacy", in the daylight. Laurel and I had actually spent a good
20 minutes the night I got there looking for it in the rain, :o) Thanks
Laurel! You're the Best! While at Epcot that day Ryan W. was selected
to be in a street show in the UK. He played Bob Scratch-It in their version
of A Christmas Carol. We have a bunch of pictures of it, and Biggs has
it on film. That night we all went to eat at Ohana's over at the Polynesian.
We took Monorail Gold from Epcot back to the TTC, then another one to
Poly. We were way early, so we went to the Grand Floridian and walked
around at looked at their decorations. They have a MASSIVE tree up, as
well as a Gingerbread House that there is a store in, where you can buy...gingerbread.
That night at dinner was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.
We were just laughing and having a great time. We were talking about everything
from Aaron's previous night with Walt, haha, to telling stories of this
past Summer and all the weird situations on stand, or stupid people we
had to save. That night when we left we were the ONLY people on the Monorail.
And upon returning to the TTC we were told that there would be no more
busses running to Epcot and that we'd have to take a Cab. Well, fortunately
one of the drivers there was kind enough to drive us to the entrance to
the bus drop off area of Epcot (that was the furthest he could take us).
We were, of course, very grateful for his help. And I plan to send in
a letter complimenting his guest service and hope he'll be recognized.
The guy we asked prior to him offering help was pretty rude about it,
with isn't very Disney...we should know, we all work for the mouse too,
haha.
The day after that we went to MGM Studios and met up with Ryan and Derek
(one of my other roommates). We went on Rockin Roller Coaster, since I
still have a bunch of Rider-Switch Passes that Mike (another roommates)
had given to me over the summer. We spent part of the day there, then
most of us went to Magic later that afternoon. We met up with Amanda and
Biggs and stayed til it closed, this was our last night there. After leaving
we were went to PI again, to catch the last Comedy Show of the night.
Well, we made it, but it sucked. And some really drunk girl wanted to
get a hug and kiss from Ryan. After leaving PI I went out with Aaron and
Naidymar to Jungle Jims, where we met Biggs and Grant. From there we went
to Perkins and had a VERY early morning breakfast. When I got to Laurels
that night I had unknowingly been locked out by her family. So I spent
the night at Aaron's place on his futon.
The next morning was spent packing up come home. Ryan, Laurel, and I went
to Downtown Disney to do some shopping and get lunch. We met up with Beau,
Aaron, and Naidymar. After eating, I unfortunately had to go to the airport
and fly home...where I am now...bored once again...
I miss
Florida
