God damn, we're getting old...
You
know, sometimes it doesn't seem like High School was all that
long ago... But I went back by Tino and walked around a while
back, and seeing it again, and how much has been torn down and
rebuilt, really makes me realize how much it's changed since
I went there.
I
spent all four years there, class of 2001. We were one of the
most un-liked classes to come out of that school. Granted,
there were a lot of people in our class that slacked off and gave
the administration a hard time. I still don't think we were all
that bad, or as bad at the teachers would make you think.
I
have tons of memories, some good, some bad...But overall I would
say I enjoyed the majority of High School. Here's a quick breakdown
of my years at Tino:
Freshman:
I was still adjusting...not adjusting to highschool...but to
myself. I wasn't happy with who I was in Jr. High. So in between
8th and 9th grade I completely changed my image. Freshman year
I cut off pretty much all my hair, and bleached it. I stopped
running Track and tried my hand at Swimming. I skated everywhere
I went, and spent time doing that or sports when I should have
been studying. I got Chicken Pox for the second time in my life
that Winter, it sucked.
Sophomore:
I had a great time Sophomore year. I played Water Polo that summer
for DACA, then for the school team that Fall. We actually did
really well. I had Mr. and Mrs. A for History/English (so much
fun). I also swam that year, and ran track for a short time.
I was nominated for Winter Formal Prince, though I didn't win.
This was the year our group started to shrink, both Chris and
Quan left that year. And during Finals that June our entire History
class went and jumped in the pool.
Junior:
I was on Water Polo this year too, but the Coach refused to
play me. He was upset that I couldn't make it to weekend meets
because I had to work (which I was under contract for and couldn't
miss). He said I should put Water Polo first. So, since I didn't
get to play Water Polo, I didn't join his Swim team that year either.
I ran Track, and did really well. In three weeks, I was ranked
6th in Leagues for my events. School that year was so-so, I
had a few cool teachers. I also started building my car that year.
My favorite class, by far, was Cooking...we had soo much fun.
And Junior Prom was awesome, Margaret (also my date) and I
were Prom King and Queen. :o)
Senior:
I had a pretty good time Senior year too. I was only at school
about half the day, and was working full time. I was always
recording something that year. I made our "Senior Video" that
year for Prom, unfortunately the Administration didn't approve
it to be watched by the students. Spirit Week was awesome,
our Class kicked ass. But the Administration decided we didn't
win. The Class of '02 (who did win) even said we deserved it more.
Oh well, like I said, Administration didn't seem to like us.
Oh well.

Me,
Sara, Shannon, and Margaret - probably my best girl friends in
high school
Anyway,
I enjoyed pretty much all of those four years. And have a lot
of pictures to share, so enjoy...
