Paris, Day 3

Friday:

I woke up really early on Friday, partly because it was so damn cold in the hostel, and second because I had to get up and across town to Disneyland for the day. I showered, in the freezing cold shower they had, changed clothes and was on my way. I walked through a little farmers market area before getting on the Metro. I wanted to walk around a little and buy some food for breakfast, but I didn't want to be late.

I caught a Metro to the Light Rail and headed out toward the parks. The ride took about 40 minutes or so. I ended up having to pay 25Euros to get out of the train station, I didn't have the correct ticket to get all way there on the train. That sucked, but at least I had free tickets to the parks so I wouldn't have to pay for that. I walked around until I found where to exchange my ticket. I walked right into the park, through the gates, with my duffel bag full of all my stuff. No one was checking bags like they do at the other Disney parks in California and Florida. I walked around trying the find the lockers so I could check in my stuff and not carry it all day; I had brought everything because like the night before, I didn't know where I was going to stay that night. I had to exit the park since the bag check was right outside the main gates. I got my bag checked and then waited for Danika and Scott.

Well, Danika ended up meeting some people at her hostel that wanted to come the park that day too. So in total there were five of us; me, Scott, Danika, Tash, and Vicky. We went into the park and headed toward Adventureland first. Though I kept stopping to take video and pictures of everything that I saw, I knew all my friends from WDW would want to see pictures of the park. We went on Thunder Mountain, and then headed toward Indiana Jones. We ended up taking a wrong turn and ended up in a little petting zoo area that the park there has. Indiana Jones was cool, it was a roller coaster that went backwards.. and was a little painful. After that we headed toward the Swiss Family Robinson tree house. It was HUGE, and looked a little like the Tree of Life from Animal Kingdom in Florida. We also went walking through the caves underneath the tree. Next we wandered over the Pirates of Caribbean. The story line and scenes were almost all in reverse compared to WDW/DL. After that we stopped and ate lunch. On the menu you could order random things like Tarts and stuff that was so completely French. We ate the Pinocchio restaurant in Fantasyland and afterward went to do the Alice in Wonderland maze; Katie told me that there was one there and I promised her I would do it. Next was the TeaCups and then Small World. After that we made our way to Futureland to Space Mountain. The line was pretty long so we only got FastPasses. The girls then went to see the parade, Scott and I went to Phantom Manor. The ending of their haunted house is an Old Western town... I swear the French didn't understand the movie at all. We went back to Space Mountain, which in my opinion is much better than Space Mountain at Disneyland and FAR better than Disneyworld. Scott left after that, and I went to check out Disney Village (their Downtown Disney area). They search bags to get into Disney Village, but not the parks... weird huh? I walked through real quick just to check it out before going back to Disneyland. I went inside to watch the lighting of Castle. Then met up with Danika, she walked around with me while I tried to find a couple little gifts for friends back home. After that we went and caught the train home.

I hung out with Danika for a bit when we got back, trying to figure out what I was going to do that night as far as a place to stay. I asked the hostel if Kelly, Aaron and Laura were still there; Kelly offered to split a room with me that night, the night before. Well they had already checked out, and I couldn't wait around to see if my other friends were going to come back because the guy at the counter of the hostel was giving me shit for waiting there. I ended up waiting outside and meeting up with everyone. Sara, Linn, and Annie said I could go back with them and stay at their place. I went back with them and crashed on their floor. We watched the news in French...it didn't make much sense. It was great the girls let me crash with them though, plus their place was a lot roomier compared to the other hostel.
