Journal 41 Tuesday: Today started out like yesterday; Roger came in to wake me up at 8:30 and I showered and got ready for the day. I went out and ate breakfast and talked to Ulrike about what we were going to do that day. Breakfast was bread, quark, and jelly - good stuff. Roger and Ulrike helped me figure out what trains I could take tomorrow to get to Amsterdam; and also figure out the best way to meet up with Chris too. Ulrike and I went into town so she could show me around a little more and I could see the Christmas faire. We walked around the different shops and buildings and she pointed out all the main stuff. I saw one of the really old performing arts theatres here, as well as the largest cuckoo clock in the world. We stopped and had hot chocolate in one of the little cafes. After that we went to get Bratwurst so I could try it while I was still in Germany. We walked around some more shops and Ulrike looked at doing some of her christmas shopping here. She looked at getting a ballerina outfit for Josi, but the price tag was 84Euros... what a rip off. We met up with her little sister and said hello. Then Ulrike went to do a bit more shopping in the store we were in so she could get her parking validated. I wandered around and found a really nice jacket that I liked, it was 150Euros which I didn't want to spend on a jacket since I already have a couple... though it was really nice. We then walked to Foot Locker so I could see the price on the shoes that Roger wants for Christmas. Ulrike was saying that shoes are reallllly expensive here. We then headed back home. The sun came out on the drive back which really made the frosted trees look pretty. I tried to take a picture while driving since there was no where around to stop. We got back and picked up Josi next door. I got to meet Ulrike's parents. Maxi came home a bit later and it was now time for lunch. We had meat, rice, bread, and juice. I was telling Roger that shoes are much less expensive in the US than here, he sounded happy to hear that. I emailed Chris and let him the know Train times for tomorrow and when to meet; and then it was time for my walk with Sabine. Sabine and I walked around the entire town. We walked up the hill and into the forest, and then around the hills that the village is set in. We caught up on a bunch of different things. I filled her in on my family even more, and what everyone was up to. I had showed her pictures before we left the house. We talked about what she had been doing and where she had lived. She's now in Mexico City, so I think I may go visit there this summer since it wouldn't cost too much money. After our walk around the hills we went to Sabine's house so I could meet her family. I met her parents and also her niece and nephew. We sat and had hot chocolate, cookies, and also things that tasted like crepes but where more of a pancake (not as thin). Her nephew knows some English and was understanding parts of what I was saying. They showed me some pictures as well before I left with Sabine to walk back toward Ulrike's house. I said goodbye to Sabine and that I would probably come visit her in the near future. That evening at home I was told many times to "Come eat cake", by Ulrike. She's been having me eat a lot of this cake she made because she knows that I like it, haha. So I had cake, for the third time today - I think. I showed Josi how to make paper swans. She's catching on really fast, granted she watches you like a hawk when you show her. She already memorized how to make a paper box; and she broke her swan into class to show her friends today. Maxi was doing his English homework; he's pretty good at it. He's doing better with his English than he is with his German, Ulrike told me. Dinner tonight was bread, cheese, meat, yogurt, a yogurt-drink type thing, and juice. They still say I don't eat enough though, even though that was an entire days worth of food for me. After dinner Maxi was dancing around so I told Ulrike to take pictures to show his girlfriend in a few years when he's older. So she did; and Maxi got pretty upset after that. I spent a little while trying to find the jacket online that I had seen, I couldn't... oh well. After that I worked on my laptop a little and tried to get stuff ready to upload before I leave for Amsterdam tomorrow.
