Portfolio is uploaded! - April 3, 2008
So I finally broke down about upgrading my gear. I wouldn't really say it was too difficult a choice either. For me it was a matter of finally having a job that can pay for my gear. Don't get me wrong, I loved working for the paper at school, but the pay in Michigan is next to nothing. So, affording $4,000 camera bodies was a bit out of question.

However, now I'm back home, making a lot more money the last year, and in addition to putting some serious dents in my outrageous school loans from CMU - I can also upgrade.

I've been out on a few fashion shoots this year, an automotive shoot, and some sports stuff as well, too. Keep checking back since I just got my online portfolio up and working!

Gettin back in the game... - January 25, 2008

The Photo Game, that is...

I know it's been far too long since I've done anything with my site. I spent all of last year working to try and pay down my many school loans and almost completely put off photography.

Well I'm done putting things off that I love.

I've ordered new equipment, found willing models, and as soon as the weather starts to clear up I'll be out shooting once again. I'm still working a lot which always helps with bills, but plan to start making time to shoot.

I also built a few new portfolios and will be uploading those very soon. I need to get all my photography online. I have an entire Wedding portfolio to share with those looking for photographers.
I need to stop putting things off and start getting my name out there.

Digg, Facebook, del.icio.us - July 5, 2007
I got a little bored tonight and decided since I had some free time for once, I was going to make a few additions to my site.

I added Digg, Facebook, and del.icio.us buttons to video section. :)
Now you guys can share links a bit easier - for those who are interested.

Thanks!

Sub Domains - January 24, 2007
So I think I'm going to be redoing my site with sub domains. I've been looking at different ideas on how to restructure everything that I have online, and at the moment that seems like the best way.

I'm probably also going to be going through and getting rid of some old pages and sections. We'll see.

A new year, a new challenge - January 15, 2007
Well it's already two weeks into 2007.

I'm shocked that the last two years flew by as fast as they did. I can't even begin to tell you just how far behind I am in editing and uploading of images.
However, now that I have graduated I hope to have a bit more time to myself to work on these things.

No more homework, woo hoo!

CM Life PDFs! - November 2, 2006
I've finally found a little bit of time to be able to create a new section here on my site.
CM Life Fronts is a page created to display all the section fronts that have used my work while I've been working for Central Michigan Life.
So, check it out, you'll be able to view and download the full PDFs as well as link to the original articles to read, too.

Final Semester - October 14, 2006
Holy crap I'm almost there...
I'm halfway done with my final semester of college. It's been a pretty long and crazy ride so far, the next couple months will be packed.
I'm Photo Editor of Central Michigan Life right now, and that's taking up about 50-60 hours a week right now. I try and find time in between to get homework and stuff done, but it's rough.
I'm sorry to everyone for the extreme lack of updates this year.
I guess it's that whole "busy last year of college" thing...

Examples of my work - May 22, 2006
For those of you who are curious to see what type of color correction and editing I do to my photos I decided to create a simple page to share with you all. Here you will find a few of my final pieces from the last school year with a little blurb on what I did to each photo.

Also, if you're curious about the type of stuff we're starting to do by mixing photos with sound, you can watch an example of that here too.

Enjoy everyone!

Back online... - May 21, 2006
I'm back online after a few weeks.
After returning my system decided to be a little bitch and not access the internet for quite a while. Anyway, I'm back and will be able to start working on scripts FINALLY.

So I'll work on gettin a bunch of photos from this past school year online as quick as possible. Since I'm still not working that should be fairly manageable.

Moving Home - May 16, 2006
I've been home nearly a week now... ok ok, like five days. And it's always strange being back. I've built an exteremly busy, and quite productive, life for myself in Michigan at school. However, when things slow down out there, or when I return home during breaks, I end up sitting around looking for stuff to do.

I know that it's mostly because I haven't started working. But part of it is also the whole "things are different when you come home from college thing".
My friends here don't hang out with each other any more. Everyone has gone about their lives in different directions. Part of that's life, and part is that they no longer all get along.

It's unfortunate really, and makes me look foward to moving on to better things later in the year.

But until then I plan to have a great summer with everyone I can.

Winning Awards - April 6, 2006
I've won a couple awards recently.
The most important one was taking third place in the Michigan Press Photographer Association's Picture of the Year contest, back in February.

I'll be honored at our Journalism banquet in a few weeks for my accomplishments. I've also placed in a few different clip contests for Michigan colleges. And I even made Photographer of the Month, haha.

I'm still extremely busy though. But I love it.

College consumes your life... - February 3, 2006
So I've been in the University setting a year now. I transferred to CMU last January and have since attended Spring, Summer, and Fall terms.

It's now Spring again and I realize as school has progressed my time has become more and more limited. I'm only working two jobs (so I can at least eat) and also am carrying a full load.

However, I have very little leisure time to spend doing things like web design and video work. I haven't been able to do any major update in a couple months. I'm hoping to get my photography on here soon. But that's depending on me finding the time to script those pages.

I'm enjoying my last year of college, don't get me wrong. But sometimes I wish I had a tad more free time.

I'm SO DAMN BUSY - November 19, 2005
Well for those of you who are regulars here on my site you've probably realized that there hasn't been any major update in just under two months.
All I can say is that I'm sorry. I've been incredibly busy here at school this term and find myself left with very little free time to spend on my computer doing any type of leisure activity.
I've been working two jobs and have just started a third one to help pay my bills. A lot of people back home ask why I need three jobs; it's because that three jobs here in Michigan still don't pay what I made part time with one job back home.
I have so many great photographs that I would love to upload and share with all of you guys. I also have put together a pretty decent portfolio in the last couple month.
I promise that these will all go up as soon as I can find the free time. That will actually probably be around finals week since I won't have too much to do. Hahaha.

Beer Olympics - September 13, 2005
Well Fechik hosted his 2nd Annual Beer Olympics on Saturday. I shot the whole thing, all seven hours of it.
So in the next day or two I'll get off my lazy ass and upload photos so everyone can see them that's interested.

I really need to finish developing the CMU section on this site. After all, I have been here since January now... sheesh.

Back in Michigan - August 28, 2005
Well, it's time to start another semester. I'm back in Michigan and have moved into my new place. I have a big ass room and my own bathroom AND I can cook my own food - yay for kitchens!

I had to spend more money than I thought since I didn't have sheets/blankets/lamps/etc. Our complex is nice but we still have a few issues to work out. I need to get in touch with their ISP because I think they block IMAP/POP3 and if they do I'm going to be pissed cuz that means I'll be forced to use my webmail server instead of Outlook.

Anyway, I'll have an interesting week of trying to get a student loan, racking up credit card bills, and maybe homework if I'm actually assigned a decent amount this term. Haha.

Moving.... Again - August 19, 2005
I'm going to be moving back to school in about five more days. I've had a pretty decent summer back here in California.
Unfortunately I didn't get to do everything that I hoped - as far as travel is concerned. I'm looking forward to getting back to school and working to finally finish my degree.
Plus I'll have my own apartment again for the first time in a few years. Woo hoo!

Thirteen Hundred... - August 8, 2005
So I've been scanning all my old pictures from before I owned digital cameras of any kind. I knew I had a lot but I didn't think I had 1,300+ photos... I mean DAMN.

I'll be uploading some of them over the next month or two. Mainly the pictures from high school as I don't post personal photos of me and my family on here too often.

For those of you who want copies of something please let me know. Posts of the new pics will be slow since I have to touch up and color correct a number of them. Just FYI.

San Diego & Los Angeles - July 30, 2005
So last week I went down south for the first time in over two years.
It's funny how in that time I've been many other countries and various states. Traveled to Florida six times too, haha.
The trip was last minute, as they usually are with me. This particular one was planned and booked within 36 hours of leaving. I had an amazing time though. And I'm looking forward to next time I make it back

62,5000 - July 9, 2005
The number of videos viewed since my re-launch in December 2003.
There are currently 161 clips uploaded ranging from high school lunch breaks, to shaun being shot at with a spud gun, montoges of Mike and Rob dancing, and being lost on the streets of Paris.
Whether you frequent my site, or just got linked here when you searched "jump rope" on Yahoo and watched Louie jumping over Billy... Thank You for your support

Summer School - .:June 29, 2005:.
Well,
I ROCKED my summer courses. Sixteen semester hours in three weeks... And I was able to get an A and an A-. Believe me, I busted my ass those three weeks, had no social life, and all I did was go to class and do homework - but it was worth it.

At this rate I'll be graduating Magna Cum Laude...

Hacked - June 4, 2005
Some asshole actually took the time to hack my site. Someone found a vulnerability in my forum (that I no longer use) and exploited it.
Well, fortunately for them I'm in the middle of moving and it took me about 20 hours before I was able to get my pages fixed.
Shit's back to normal now. My site is mine. My forum is offline til further notice. And as soon as I'm home in California I'm going to rescan all my directories to make sure that things are straight.
This wasn't exactly how I planned to start of summer vacation... but oh well...

I'm not THAT nerdy... - May 29, 2005
Haha,
So it's held true the last three months that every time I'm offline for more than a day or two people begin to worry.
Usually I'm just traveling somewhere, for example I'm currently in Chicago. But I'll usually get a couple phone calls or text messages from people wondering if I'm ok because they don't see my computer online.
Just kind of funny... thought I'd share with all of you.

Accelerated Learning - May 16, 2005
All courses should have the option to be accelerated courses, in college. I completed Trigonometry in six weeks; and two English and one Photo course in eight weeks. Currently, I have two Journalism courses that are THREE weeks long. I wish all my classes would move along this quickly.

Testing the Thoughts script - May 1, 2005
I fuckin hate how if you forget ONE ' it fucks up your whole script and you spend 30 minutes trying to figure out what you did wrong with your coding.... DAMNNNN

Testing it out... -
Well well well...
I'm slowly gettin this overhaul completed. I have the Thoughts, Top Five, and Quotes scripts completed. I have to write the front end scripts, but that won't affect any of you.
Anyway, give me another week or two...

Testing it out... -
Just testing out this new table. SELECT * FROM thoughts ORDER BY date LIMIT 1; let's hope it works
